I am directed by Mr. Secretary Harcourt to transmit to you the accompanying paper of particulars of the appointment of a senior assistant engineer on the Tytam Tux Reservoir at llongkong, and to request that you will engage a suitable candidate on the terus

stated therein.

The Officer Administering the Government desires that the officer selected should we sent out at an early date and adds that it is particularly desirable that he should be unmarried as it is proposed that ne should share with the junior assistant engineer a nouse close to the works, which will be provided with all necessary heavy furniture.
